<reviewbody>This was your typical old safari movie. Stiff acting, oomgawa, me Tarzan you Jane type of language for the natives. There were plenty of animal and nature shots as a filler of course. The old somebody went on a safari and hasn't been heard from in months so lets form our own search party and find them routine. Yes, I would most likely watch it again in I was ever in a jungle mood. Three stars was all I could muster for this film but all in all, it wasn't too bad.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>The previous reviewer pretty well summed it up. I'll just add that I enjoy old safari movies, mostly because I remember the wonder I felt as a child when I first SAW these strange animals and these far-off places. There were STILL lots of blank places on the map and anything seemed possible. But before even seeing this movie I would have given Zita, the Amazonian Queen a "head's up". "Patricia Morison is coming," I would have said. "Beware! Doom and Death dog her steps!"

No, but seriously, I'm just having a little fun at her expense. It IS an odd coincidence that whenever Patricia Morison (who celebrated her 92nd birthday last March) appeared in any long-running and much beloved movie series'---they abruptly ended. In this same year of 1947 she appeared in SONG OF THE THIN MAN---also starring William Powell and Myrna Loy. A HUGELY popular series. They never made another one. In this same year she also appeared in TARZAN AND THE HUNTRESS with Johnny Weismuller. Weismuller never made another Tarzan flick. And just the year before (in '46) she played the villanous Hilda Courtney opposite Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce in DRESSED TO KILL. Rathbone and Bruce never made another Sherlock Holmes picture.
COINCIDENCE???
Well, of course it is. But it's an amusing one.

Three stars for Pat.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>The writing is laughable, the acting is horrible, the stock footage endless. But it is entertaining in that so bad it's good way.

It's time to pop some popcorn and grab a couple of brews. You'll have a hoot with this one!

<reviewbody>Nothing good to say about this film. It's pure dreck. If you want to see a good movie set in Africa, check out <a href="http://www.archive.org/details/king_solomans_mine" target=_blank>King Solomon's Mines</a>.

I downloaded the mpeg2 file. Video and audio are fine.
